This beautiful farm home in Giessenburgh, South Holland is where my mother was born. My uncle still lives there. Her maiden name was van den Dool. Dools have lived here since the seventeen hundreds when one of the Dools married a daughter of the owners who had no sons. The home dates hundreds of years earlier than this. The barn is housed in the rear of structure which was designed to house both livestock and people upstairs whenever the Dutch countryside was inundated by flood waters.
